radio silent

You'd think it would be wedding stuff that's got me bogged down. Nope. Just the reality of being back to work post-holidays. In fact, the wedding stuff has been pretty easy so far.

Here's the progress on the checklist:

DONE
  • date - May 19
  • hotel reservation - Playa del Carmen
  • airline tickets - Love frequent flier miles (Thanks Janya!)
  • passports & birth certificates - Packed and ready to go!
  • inviting close friends to Mexico - just finalizing the who can/can't make it
  • telling parents & family they're not coming to Mexico - Doing small family dinner receptions in Colorado and Minnesota in June
  • got my permanent ring setting & wedding band - band packed with other Mexico packing stuff
  • got my wedding dress - getting altered and should be done before the end of January
  • family reception in Colorado -- deposit sent in and menu selected
THE "TO DO" LIST
  • buy Rick's wedding band
  • finalize reservation for restaurant for "rehearsal" dinner -- very cool outdoor restaurant with a bonus fireshow to boot!
  • finalize ceremony details and "reception" dinner on the beach
  • send out the details of dates/times/locations to mexico guests
  • get photocopies of passports from friends who will be official witnesses
  • mail paperwork to hotel to get the process rolling before we get to town
  • figure out if there's going to be someone onsite at the hotel to do hair and make up

Now if only my work "to do" list were so manageable. :S Good thing this wedding thing is low key, because my day job is going to consume me for the next few months. ...as I sit in my office at the end of a long day.

You make it sound so easy. If only I were going the same route as you. Actually hasn't been too bad. With all of the work distractions everything is getting done one thing at a time, but seems to be getting done. Wish I could be there.

Happy Wedding planning.
Jen
