A friend and former colleague of mine was battling cancer in his left hand several years ago, and subsequently had an amputation to isolate the cancer. He is one of the most remarkable and optimistic people I know. Gratefully, Josh has been in remission for the last two years, and he shared with his friends an opportunity to support research efforts for epithelioid sarcoma by donating to the NW Sarcoma Foundation’s Bike, Hike and Trike.
In an effort to support his cause, I'm posting this here in case any of you would like to support his independent film which will be out soon, or donate to the Bike, Hike and Trike.

Dear Friends and Family,
This time three years ago we were preparing for treatment for my recurrence of epithelioid sarcoma. This spring we are in a much better place -- two years in remission of cancer, my documentary on my experience, called My Left Hand, will screen at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival, and our healthy and growing family is expecting a baby girl on June 5, 2007.
During our battle, we were supported by each and every one of you through home cooked meals, childcare assistance for Jacob and Sam, encouraging emails, and other generous and thoughtful acts. Thank you! While our daily lives are currently routine, we are reminded of those treatment days and are committed to helping to find a cure for sarcomas.
On May 5, 2007, Team Isaac will participate in the annual NW Sarcoma Foundation’s Bike Hike and Trike. The NW Sarcoma Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to providing education and support to patients and families who are living with this cancer.
Funding for sarcoma research has taken on a new urgency due to federal budget cuts in 2007. A majority of sarcoma research trials are being eliminated this year, with no promise of funding for future research. This leaves sarcoma patients with no good alternatives for quality care as many of the chemotherapy protocols simply do not work on sarcomas.
Please join us in our pursuit to support the work of the NW Sarcoma Foundation with a gift to Team Isaac at http://www.nwsarcoma.org/registerl.html You can register online to join Team Isaac and/or make a contribution towards the Team Isaac goal of $15,000. Please indicate in the comments section that your gift is to support Team Isaac
Finally, at the end of May, My Left Hand will be shown in the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. www.trueindependent.org. We will send an announcement once the date and time is confirmed. We hope you will be able to join us!
Thank you for all of your support!
Warmly,
Josh, Kim, Jacob and Sam Isaac

** We strongly encourage pre-registration and collected donations be made online or before May 5. Any monies collected at the event are subject to a 5% surcharge by the City of Seattle…let’s keep our Sarcoma dollars directed at research! **
