the cabin

We fell in love this weekend. Fitting for Valentine's Day weekend. With a load of research of the area under our belt, we headed to Roslyn, WA (home to the tv show Northern Exposure) and found our dream vacation home. And most importantly, with the decline in the housing market, it's in our price range. It's bank owned right now, so we've put in an offer...hopefully we'll hear back on Tuesday, after the public holiday.
  • Old minig community, established in 1886.
  • Population: 1015
  • Only 80 minutes from our townhouse.
  • Snowmobile capital of the Northest.
  • Access to hiking trails, mountains, lakes, including Lake Cle Elum.
  • Near Suncadia resort amenities -- golf, trails, ice skating, spa
  • 77 inches of snowfall with less than an inch of precipitation between April and September. Summer temperatures reach the low 80's.

This is way nicer than our townhouse. We're definitely envisioning lots of long weekend and holidays at the "cabin" in the woods.

Here are some pictures to show you why we love it so much!

Holy Cow! That's amazing! Good luck with the offer. What's the last photo? Is there room for us? x

Last photo is the community clubhouse with pool, hot tub, tennis courts, volleyball. Nice to have access to a pool during the summer. :)

That's fabulous! During college we used to go to Roslyn for the pizza. I'll be curious to hear your adventures as a cabin owner - Rob and I want to look in that direction in a few years.
